ryanbeckyI obeyed the Gospel in January, 1998 when I was 17 years old.  Not long after I became a Christian, I presented a testimonial-like Wednesday evening invitation; and from then on I was committed to preparing myself to labor as a local preacher.

That preparation came in the form of earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Florida College in 2003.  During this time, I worked under the direction of two seasoned men and their elderships: Tom Kinzel at the Vivion Road Church of Christ in Kansas City, MO , and David Owen at the Brandon Church of Christ in Brandon, FL.

Due to family health circumstances, my wife and I needed to move “home” to Kansas City near the end of 2003.  The KC Police Department was running an ad in the KC Star that they were hiring, so I figured, “Why not?”  After 6 months of academy training I began working the streets until God opened a door to labor with the Raymore Church of Christ in July, 2007.

While working with Raymore, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies from Central Baptist Theological Seminary.  Since 2011 I have been a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society of Biblical Literature.  Also, Becky and I were able to become more involved in working with young people.  We had both worked with the Florida College Missouri Summer Camp since 2003, but in 2009 we began serving as Assistant Directors, and in 2014 we begin service as the Directors.

In November, 2013 my family moved to St. Louis to serve the Ellisville Church of Christ where we are presently laboring.  We have three kids: Luke, Lily and Olivia, who are the joy of our lives.

The goal of this blog is simply to share things that I care about.  It began as a requirement for a class in graduate school, but now I hope it will serve, ultimately, to bring glory to God.
